Vasuki Shanmuganathan

Vasuki Shanmuganathan is an artist, researcher, and educator. Her emerging art and curatorial practice engages with archives of the mundane and symbiotic forms of connections such as communal care to trace the material and immaterial borders of the digital sphere. In 2016, she founded the Tamil Archive Project (TAP) artist collective, which combines art, knowledge sharing, and archival practices into accessible events for the local community. She has curated group exhibitions at The Public Gallery, Scarborough Arts, and Make Room as well as exhibited most recently at Lakeshore Arts. Vasuki holds a PhD from the University of Toronto. She previously worked as Assistant Director of Mayworks Festival and Chair of artist-run Whippersnapper Gallery.
